The Prism Perspective: How We Met 🤝

Hello Friends,
Meet the Prism Movement Studio Team!
About 12 years ago, I had a client that was also taking Gyrotonic® lessons. This client gifted her Gyro teacher 5 sessions with me. I didn't see her for a while after those 5 sessions, but then she started coming in to take classes, and pretty soon she just didn't go away. Ashley joined the Prism team this past February:
Ashley graduated with a BA in Dance from the University of Washington and dance is still her first love and passion. She came to the Fajardo Method™ over 12 years ago displaying unhealthy emotional and mental distress, addictive coping mechanisms, food intolerances and chronic low-level injuries. Of all the mind/body and self-help modalities she has experienced, it has been by far the most consistent, lasting and impactful practice to date.
Ashley became a certified practitioner of the Fajardo Method™ in 2020 in order to share with individuals who are curious to bravely explore their structures and allow for change in their embodied experience.
When you go to your kids dance recitals, sometimes the teachers hide backstage and chat. Sometimes it's more than gossip, and this one conversation turned into a perfect match:
Chloe graduated with a BFA in dance from the University of Arizona. She absolutely loves dance and continues to teach in Portland, Oregon. In 2024, she met Amy and soon after learned about the Fajardo Method™. Chloe is fascinated with neurobiology and loves learning about the mind/body connection, so this was all very interesting to her. She joined the team in the beginning of 2025 as an administrative assistant and has since been working behind the scenes to help everything run smoothly. Chloe loves learning about the Fajardo Method™ and is excited to be a part of Prism Movement Studios.

Many moons ago my husband and I refinanced our home. The guy at the bank kept asking me questions about my work, and as many of you know, that's hard to explain. But he kept asking and mentioning his daughter. Long story short, his daughter is Kelly:
Kelly started taking dance classes at age 6 and has continued to take them throughout life. Kelly graduated from University of Oregon in 2012 where she double majored in International Studies and Economics, with minors in Political Science and Dance. In 2014 she became certified in the Fajardo Method of Holistic Biomechanics™ and taught at Transformations Studio for 6 years. In 2019 she joined Amy at Prism Movement Studio where she continues to use Holistic Biomechanics to help her clients achieve greater mobility and structural functioning.
How did we meet?
Onwards, Amy
