
EXPLORING THE FASCIA TRAINS - a 3-Month Mat Class Series

The ‘fascia trains’ are continuous lines of connective tissue encasing groups of muscles
across the body. When functioning optimally, these lines glide with every movement and
distribute forces evenly throughout the body. Instead of seeing the body as isolated parts, we begin to experience the body as an integrated whole.
In this series, we will map a different fascia train (or part of one) each week As we notice the trains while
doing various movements in different positions, leverage can become more optimal and our movement
graceful. Over time, with this type of attention, fascia that is ‘stuck’ can begin to slide again. This is not
about stretching or control. Change happens as the brain receives more and more accurate information
about the body through observation, proprioceptive awareness, and movement.
